phillHello Mantis folks... I have a question about sorting.    When I sort on reporter_id, the sort appears to be happening on the basis of an internal integer rather than the userid or real name of the reporter.15:46
phillThat's nice for grouping tickets reported by the same person, but not as useful as if the list were alphbetical by either userid or realname.15:46
phillAny way to accomplish that easily with either configuration or simple hack of the source?15:46
philleven being pointed to the right files would be helpful ... e.g. where is the sorting actually happening? (I could hack there to replace the integers with the userid or realname in the case that the sort key is userid)15:48
phillor is the sorting actually being done at the SQL level, using an order by clause?15:52
philllooks like the sorting is done within SQL and the query is formed in filter_api.php15:55
phillLooks like it would be a Gnarly hack in filter_get_query_sort_data --- if it is even possible at all.16:02
jreesephill: I think that's why it hasn't already been updated with your change16:18

philljreese.. thanks fr the reply.     Probably the better approach than my ugly hack  is to build an AJAX/JQuery based view of the data, so that the sorting can be done on the client side.17:58
phillI'm using a fairly old version of Mantis---maybe newer versions have this?17:58

phillI just looked over the "plugin" documentation---seems like this could be added as a plugin (i.e. a page that replaces view_all_bug_page.php but that works with AJAX/jquery)?18:03

dregad@phill - this was discussed last year on the mailing list, but never got very far. See http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.bug-tracking.mantis.devel/343618:40
